12th International Conference of IACMAG (International Association for Computer Methods and
Advances in Geomechanics) in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Powai,
India will be held in Goa, India.

A Two day introductory FLAC3D training course will be taught on September 30 and October 1, 2008
in Goa, India.

Instructors:

Edward Dzik (Itasca Consulting Group, Minneapolis, USA.)
Dr. Dzik is a geotechnical engineer with a background in computational geomechanics. He has
over 20 years of experience developing commercial and custom software for use in the mining
and geotechnical industries and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada.


Jay Aglawe (Jay Aglawe and Associates, Nagpur, India.)
Dr. Jay Aglawe is a mining engineer with a background in stress analysis applied to various rock
engineering problems in mining and hydroelectric projects. As an Itasca Agent, Dr.Aglawe also
oversees the marketing, sales, and training with Itasca software in India.

Instructions for the FLAC3D training :
  1. Each student will need to bring their own laptop.
  2. Students must have administrator privileges on their laptops (so we can install software and updates).
  3. Laptops require a USB port for the security key to run FLAC3D.
  4. Laptops require a CD reader.
  5. Supported operating systems are Windows XP, XP64, Vista, Vista64,
  6. Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows Server editions are not supported.
  7. Macintosh (Mac) systems are not supported.
